U.S. Mounted Park Police

Can you find two horses in this photo?
Yep, they're there, surrounded by masses of adoring school kids near the Lincoln Memorial.  I wonder: if all cops rode horses, would people be so awed they'd stop doing bad stuff?

Stuff I've seen and some comments about it.

May 21, 2014

I'm hopeful this is a forum to which I can post photos and comments about my time in Washington, D.C., and environs.  I'm attempting to create this blog on my smartphone; at this point, the phone is far smarter than me.* I miss a dedicated computer.

I named this blog Because Katie said so because my sister Katie encouraged me to create a blog during this adventure.  But "Because Katie encouraged me to" isn't a good name for a blog.
Me, on a sunny Sunday on the Long Bridge Park
esplanade in Arlington, VA.  The former 18-acre brownfield
was "transformed to a stunning urban recreation site"in 2011.
*Some of you may wish to change this from "me" to "I".  I refer you to my grammarian Julie Andrews, who as Sister Maria sang, "Me, a name, I call myself."
